BUPA has around 40,000 members of staff in the UK; plus over 1,500 employees abroad and as a provident association, BUPA has no shareholders to pay and reinvests any money it makes in providing better health and care to more peopleBUSINESS CHALLENGEBUPA saw the need to enforce improved management controls of expenditure throughout their organisation by implementing a new purchasing system that would seamlessly integrate with their existing PeopleSoft financials platform. The initial target for the system was Information Systems expenditure due to the relatively high levels of technology investment and technical literacy with the intention to expand roll-out across the BUPA organisation.WHY CROCUS?The depth of knowledge, experience and skills on PeopleSoft products were key reasons why Crocus consultants were chosen as instructors by PeopleSoft for their own consultancy staff at the PeopleSoft training centre and a key criteria for BUPA in choosing Crocus to partner closely with PeopleSoft and BUPA staff on the purchasing system project.THE PROJECTCrocus consultants worked as integral members of the PeopleSoft consulting team providing the technical leadership for the project, joining the steering committee and supporting the PeopleSoft project manager. This ensured that the implementation of the PeopleSoft eProcurement and Accounts Payable systems integrated smoothly with existing PeopleSoft Financials and platform architectures.
