Business Challenge
Bovis Lend Lease needed to move all 3,000 UK staff in several locations to a single PeopleSoft Global Payroll system, replacing the complex interfaces and costs of the existing systems. Management and control of payroll for different regions needed to be brought in-house with the ability to run from a single worldwide HRMS database. This was the pilot project in a Global rollout of PeopleSoft Global Payroll.

Why Crocus?
Crocus had worked closely with Bovis Lend Lease on a previous project to consolidate the Human Resources database, working from initial project planning through to resource allocation, functional and technical design, implementation, testing and the parallel running of the system right through to go live. Crocus had also been involved in training Bovis Lend Lease’s staff on Global payroll for PeopleSoft.

The Project
Crocus consultants worked alongside the Bovis Lend Lease team involved in functional and technical design phases right through to testing of the systems and live implementation. Crocus also provided training and education support to the Bovis Lend Lease technical team for post go-live support.

Customer Benefits
The new PeopleSoft database and Global Payroll software provided a single platform for internal payroll management without the need for additional software applications. The new system went live, on time and on budget in April 2002, enabling Bovis Lend Lease to become the first company to pay all its UK based staff via a single PeopleSoft Global Payroll system. This was the first implementation of PeopleSoft Global Payroll in the UK and no other consultancy organisation was able to provide the depth of PeopleSoft knowledge and value that Bovis Lend Lease required for the project.

Crocus have continued their partnership with the Bovis Lend Lease team extending use of their system to accommodate new and future functional requirements for a Pension Management System seamlessly integrated with payroll and aiding in the upgrade of the software to version 8.3.
