Crocus Consulting's first in depth exposure
to PeopleSoft's Global Payroll product came in the Autumn of 2000.
At that time, two of the Crocus directors were acting as principle
instructors at Peoplesoft's Training Centre in Reading, transferring
skills and knowledge to PeopleSofts own consultancy team on
the Global Payroll Core Engine and Global Payroll UK Rules courses.
Crocus Consultings first hands-on customer project experience
came at Marsh UK Ltd, the world's leading risk and insurance services
firm based in Witham, Essex. Crocus had made a bid for the entire
project and, although unsuccessful, sufficiently impressed the management
team at Marsh to be invited back to work alongside PeopleSoft, the
successful consultancy. Crocus Consultants supplied key skills in
the areas of payroll functionality and technical resources to augment
and work in partnership with the PeopleSoft lead consulting team.
Crocus Consulting won a Global Payroll project outright
in 2001 at Bovis Lend Lease
(BLL), one of the world's leading project and construction management
companies. Crocus worked alongside the BLL team, directly involved
in functional and technical design phases right through to testing
of the systems and live implementation. BLL and Marsh both went
live in April 2002.
The third company to go live with Global Payroll was Unilever where
Crocus played another key role through their affiliate partnership
with PeopleSoft. Crocus supplied consultants to work on the project
in the name of PeopleSoft, complementing their own resources.
Other Global Payroll projects where Crocus has played a role are:
Dixons Stores Group
Abbey National
Six Continents (via partnership with Peoplesoft)
Guinness (Proof of concept with Xansa).
