Emap is a one of the UKs leading media companies with 5,500
employees across several countries, mainly in the UK and France.
They have 18 UK radio stations, 7 TV channels and over 150 top selling
magazines. Total revenues for 2002 were £1,029M and they are
included in the top 100 publicly owned UK companies, the FTSE-100.
Business Challenge
Emap needed support for their PeopleSoft HRMS system. They needed
support over and above the normal PeopleSoft maintenance, as this
did not cover their customisations or any reports or interfaces.
They also needed a contract that would continue to provide support
even when the vendor not longer supports the version used.

have an in depth understanding of the PeopleSoft products but also
the implementation at Emap.
The Contract
The original 12-month contract has subsequently been extended on
two further occasions. Originally Emap continued with the PeopleSoft
software maintenance program alongside Crocus Consultings
support. However such was the confidence in Crocuss ability
to support Emap that the maintenance contract was allowed to lapse,
leaving Emap on a version of the software unsupported by the vendor,
PeopleSoft. Crocus Consulting is now the sole providers of support
to Emaps PeopleSoft HRMS.

products. Crocuss model of dial-in support allows them to
support any version as well as a clients customisations, reports
and interfaces. Therefore, Emap can rest easy knowing support of
one of its business critical systems (PeopleSoft HRMS feeds
the payroll) is in the hands of a dedicated group of specialists.
