Oracle realised the potential of PeopleSoft when it acquired the business in January 2005.

PeopleSoft is one of the three most comprehensive financial and HR/Payroll solutions ever developed. It has been globally adopted by a unique portfolio of enterprise-level businesses, specialising in all areas from financial services through to retail.

Oracle realised that it was not just large enterprises that needed PeopleSoft’s functionality, but also businesses with turnovers measured in millions rather than billions.

The company’s mid-market solutions were therefore developed. They are basically the same software with the same set of powerful features but with the ability to be delivered in much shorter timescales and at an affordable price to the medium sized business.

In co-operation with its partners, Oracle has developed its Oracle Accelerate tool sets.
